The problem
Big two-story brick house, lots of hips, valleys and dormers, and a shingle roof the homeowners put at 11 to 15 years old. No active leaks reported. They went with a full replacement.
What we did
We stripped the old shingles and underlayment down to the deck and re-nailed any loose wood. Self-adhering ice and water shield went into every valley and along the gutter lines, then synthetic underlayment over the whole deck.
On top of that: IKO starter strip on the rakes and eaves, 50 squares of IKO Dynasty Class 3 architectural shingles nailed six to a shingle, and IKO hip and ridge caps. We put in ridge ventilation, closed off the other vents per code, set new plumbing boots and re-flashed the sidewalls and chimney with step and counter flashing. Tarps went over the beds and the drive before the first shingle came off.

The result
The drone went back up once the last ridge cap was on. Same house, same angle, and Driftwood shingles over every hip and dormer.
